Several ECDIS assisted grounding incidents have been used to highlight the most common issues faced by the navigator. Topics such as CatZOC and Contour settings have been covered by taking a practical approach. A chapter has been dedicated to raising proficiency by listing simple tasks that a navigator can do on the ECDIS while on board.
